The course, recognised by The Nautical Institute, also known as 'Train the Trainer course', is designed in line with IMO Model Course 6.09 to provide candidates with the required knowledge and skills to become a qualified instructor as required under the MNTB (Merchant Navy Training Board) and United Kingdom's MCA (Maritime & Coastguard Agency) guidelines for STCW courses.

The online version can be completed in almost the same time but with the convenience of spreading it over a longer duration if anyone so wishes. The course provides training in the methods of instruction and related theories to trainers at sea and ashore.  It covers the principles of training, course development and assessment in alignment with STCW Code and Convention as well as presentation, delivery and evaluation techniques, specifically for the maritime industry. The main topics covered during the course include:

  • Understand the requirements for STCW competency based training
